I had this dream Friday night and wanted to share.
A helicopter was flying overhead, you could see the sand blowing outward from the down wash of the blades; it was that close to the ground.
Below was a mare and her colt running in tandem in all directions trying to get away from this thunderous bird flying above.
Someone was hunting them, as I could see the end of the bow and the arrow poised to strike. The mare hid behind a large shrub, the colt was no where to be seen, but only the front half of the mare was hidden in its entirety. An arrow flow, missing its target another arrow was there ready in an instant.
The mare must have figured it was in no position to outrun or hide from this hovering menus. So it rolled on its back in a submissive position; much like what a dog does when challenged by a fiercer component.
Note: I know this is what dogs do so I'm sure this was just my brain using what it could to tell me the mare was giving up. I don't think a horse would actually do this. To continue....
Laying on its back the mares' colt approached and laid by its mother and nossled its small head on its mother neck. It was then the arrows flow one after another. They kept missing their target, hit the ground all around the mare and her colt.
All this time I keep thinking, stop, stop, stop, but the arrows continued to hit the ground. Then one arrow hit the mare dead center in the chest and followed by a second arrow which found the colt. Both lay still as my unspoken thoughts went unheard during the carnage.
I woke. It was then I realized I was in the helicopter, though it wasn't me who was shooting the arrows. Someone or something was doing that next to me. I've never had this dream before as I do have many dreams that repeat from time to time. This one has me stumped as to its possible meaning.

From The Past
I got an email from a long time high school friend, Lisa, earlier this week. Turns out her and her husband Guy were traveling several states on vacation and they were in Tucson. So we arranged to meet Friday night when they got up in the Phoenix area.
Lisa is one of nine of my closest friends from high school. We lost one early on, Jack, more about him in another blog. I've been trying to find everyone again and Lisa was one of the first. So I was pretty anxious waiting for them to arrive.
Lisa and Guy arrived about 6:30 in the evening and I had dinner already for them. This was the first time I got to meet her husband. And I could tell Guy wasn't into having to meet one of Lisa's old high school friends; but I really believed that his mind set had changed early into the evening. Guy and I had so much in common and we both talked most of the evening. Now I felt sorry for Lisa as we didn't get to talk all that much. But it was still great to have her here and get to hug her. After all it's been over 20 years since last we saw each other.
Lisa, I truely believe your the happiest I have ever know you to be. You and Guy really work well together. There is so much about you that is still the same old Lisa I had grown to know and love. And in the same instance you have changed so much too, all good
I hope it won't be to long before we get together again and next time you and I will hog all the conversation.
They both left at 12:30am, heading for Sedona. Guy hates the valley traffic and wanted to get out then instead of at first light. Next time you both need to stay a few days here with me.

Follow The Leader
I have a couple of friends who starting doing blogs here so I thought what the heck I'll do one too. The older I get the more I enjoys writting stuff. The first time I heard about blogs I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. After all a blog is nothing more then a glorified open diary. How do people come up with these ideas.
So I decided to try my best at writing a daily blog of what is going on around me.
So here I go.
