I had this dream Friday night and wanted to share.
A helicopter was flying overhead, you could see the sand blowing outward from the down wash of the blades; it was that close to the ground.
Below was a mare and her colt running in tandem in all directions trying to get away from this thunderous bird flying above.
Someone was hunting them, as I could see the end of the bow and the arrow poised to strike. The mare hid behind a large shrub, the colt was no where to be seen, but only the front half of the mare was hidden in its entirety. An arrow flow, missing its target another arrow was there ready in an instant.
The mare must have figured it was in no position to outrun or hide from this hovering menus. So it rolled on its back in a submissive position; much like what a dog does when challenged by a fiercer component.
Note: I know this is what dogs do so I'm sure this was just my brain using what it could to tell me the mare was giving up. I don't think a horse would actually do this. To continue....
Laying on its back the mares' colt approached and laid by its mother and nossled its small head on its mother neck. It was then the arrows flow one after another. They kept missing their target, hit the ground all around the mare and her colt.
All this time I keep thinking, stop, stop, stop, but the arrows continued to hit the ground. Then one arrow hit the mare dead center in the chest and followed by a second arrow which found the colt. Both lay still as my unspoken thoughts went unheard during the carnage.
I woke. It was then I realized I was in the helicopter, though it wasn't me who was shooting the arrows. Someone or something was doing that next to me. I've never had this dream before as I do have many dreams that repeat from time to time. This one has me stumped as to its possible meaning.

It's great that you are writing down your dreams. To me, it's funny how much I feel about them when I wake... then reading them later it's like the emotion has waned.
